A simple process to create Designer > Client harmony

What's most important to me is that you feel listened to, informed, and that you absolutely love your finished design. In the new age of technology, I use e-mail and mobile phone correspondence to stay in close contact with you every step of the way. Here's a simple outline of the process we'll use to put life into your project.

Stage 1. Chat
We'll start with a good conversation about the design your company is looking for and how to get there. Also, I'll learn about your business and you'll learn things about me. I work under principles of fairness and understanding. I want you to know how the process is going for you during each step of the way.

Stage 2. Creative Brief
By way of e-mail or phone, I'll ask you some simple questions in a "creative brief" to find out as much as possible about your artistic preference, style, and existing branding. Some clients have very clear ideas about the imagery they want, and others depend completely on me to envision their creative direction. You might even be inbetween. Either way is good. I am a totem for you to create the perfect design for the universe.

Stage 3. Quote
After discussion and understanding about the scope of your design, I'll send over an invoice/contract so we can get started. For websites, I'll inlcude a nice little custom web content map for your site. If everything looks good, I just need a signature and your 50% downpayment and we can get started as soon as the next business day.

Stage 4. Imagine and Sketch
Based on the scope and preferences of your design, I'll develop a few unique concepts to choose a general design direction from. Sometimes, you'll find exactly what you were looking for in a concept. Sometimes, you may prefer components of each and that's what we'll use to move forward. You'll have ample time to review and indulge in all of your options and I'll be here to help you in your decision process.

Stage 5. Design and Layout
Design will usually involve around 3-5 proofs. Through the design phase, I'll be sending design developments based on your notes, requests and input. This ensures that you can provide your helpful feedback throughout the process.

Stage 6. Finalize and Perfect
A final design will be chosen, refined, and sent off in print- or web-ready format for professional implementation.
